BE PRESENT

Many of us take living in the moment for granted. It’s tempting to assume we’re emotionally there in some circumstances, but we can’t argue that we’re never really there. Perhaps as a human being, it is a natural thing to do. It may be deliberate or unintentional. But I believe it is very common among people.

We don’t really pay attention to what’s going on around us. No, that’s not a bad idea. We have no choice but to restrict our right to go anywhere we want in the face of this pandemic. Our present state is drastically different from what it was prior to the Covid-19. Using this case as an example, we can clearly see the big picture of what I mean.

Prior to the pandemic, some of us went to church on a regular basis, and once there, our minds were preoccupied with what to do right after the mass. Even before the pandemic, we often saw several events on the same day. In brief, we’re too busy hustling here and there.

For both cases, some of us may have been present at the events, but their minds never were fully present. Do you agree, or do you disagree? Allow me to set an example.

I recently had a moment of clarity on how I would better handle and improve my daily routine. I was able to see what I had been doing not so long before- to be present. And I’m proud to note that I’m now learning how to live in the present moment on a consistent basis. We just have Today, which may sound cliché, but it is reality.

The only thing that matters about our lives is everything in front of us. And it is the only thing which is true and happening right now. That is why we must constantly remind ourselves not to take anything for granted. If we are unable to spend meaningful time with our loved ones physically and emotionally, there are numerous ways to communicate with them.

MAGIC ABC

A. Communicate with them through “face time” or “Skype”. If at all necessary, send postcards to them. And what is more, you may give that person your complete attention. Take advantage of the opportunity to speak with them. Make them feel they have your full attention just for them.

B. If you’re having tea with a friend or loved ones right now, try to be more attentive. Enable your mind to focus on what’s in front of you. For the time being, refrain from thinking about something else. Acknowledge the chance you got to spend time with them. You never know when you’ll be able to share another cup of tea with them.

C. Make more valuable memories to be treasured for the rest of your life.

Remember that whenever someone gives us their time, especially when they are present in the moment, the feeling can be overwhelming. I know it’s difficult, particularly if you’re used to multitasking, because our minds have a tendency to plan ahead. That’s something I understand.

I also know that we all have hopes and aspirations in life, such as wanting our children to be successful in the future, buying a farm, having another property, starting a business, and so on. It’s great to have dreams and goals in life because they keep driving and motivate us to keep moving forward.

But I still encourage you to become more open-minded so that you can see and appreciate the value of living in the moment. I believe that our hopes may or may not come true and we cannot know what the future brings. So, what I’m saying is that you should treasure and love each and every day of your life.

Still look for opportunities to be optimistic. If you live far away from your loved ones, make it a ritual to include them in your daily routines, such as sending emails or calling them. You may make them feel your affection and effort in a variety of ways.

Again, there’s nothing wrong with having dreams, ambitions, and plans; but, there’s also nothing wrong with making them happy and meaningful today. We’ll never know what we should count on tomorrows.

So this is the only true thing in our lives. Be present. To be present is the only opportunity we have in this world, then use it wisely. Do whatever makes you happy today. Don’t waste your time. Smile more and live more.

I’M SENDING MY LOVE TO EVERYONE!
