A simple approach for relieving stress!

Zumba is a new trend to show your guts in basic steps of dancing. It is an alternative way to burn fat thru several body movements and at the same time, you will learn how to dance.

As an OFW (Overseas Filipino Worker), we all work, go home, eat, and sleep. If we had a day off, we would contact our families, but there was nothing we could do to relieve the tension and agony of being away from our families. Aside from the camp’s recreational activities such as basketball, volleyball, tennis, and so on, how about people who aren’t athletic enough to participate in those games? As boredom set in, we looked for an alternative to running on a treadmill or cycling in a bicycle gym to condition our muscles.

And we come up with Zumba activities in which you don’t have to be a great dancer to participate; as long as you can follow steps, you’re in! After work, I spend around an hour every day sweating, which results in a pleasurable perspire. Everyone is welcome to join, regardless of age.

To make it possible, we asked a place for the aforementioned activity. Of course, a television and a sound system are required (portable speakers will do). We downloaded several video examples, which will serve as our guide and instructor(s) during the program.

We started 2 people, We started with two guys and practiced certain steps until others were encouraged, intrigued, and joined in on the fun. So far, we have 8 regular members who are always seeking a session practically every day, but we restrict this by providing rest days every Thursday and Friday. Even some other nations were watching and taking recordings, saying they would use it to build their own Zumba in their room, while some came to dance with us.

For us, it is one of the good and healthy way to shake your fats / stress / problems off. It exercises your body and at the same time your mind to feel relaxed even for a moment. Tiring but a rewarding endeavor after a week of consecutive Zumba fitness together with a proper diet (for those who wants to reduce weight) and for those who just want to perspire after a long day just sitting on the office without any extra movements of the body.
