You are not the only one. You are really not alone.

Do you find yourself listening to a voice in your head that keeps on saying “you are not good enough”, “you keep on gaining weight”, “you’re not looking good”, “you’re not doing it right”? These are only some of the many voices that keep on bothering in a person’s mind who feels like getting trapped in an unknown place within their own self. If you are one of those that I’m talking about, don’t worry. “You are not alone”.

Every single day, millions of people are experiencing similar scenarios as you do. As a human, it is normal to go through some struggles and difficulties in life. If you are now lying in your bed and reading this, can I ask you a favor?

First, try to sit up for a couple of seconds.

Second, put down your phone and close your eyes.

Third, take a deep breath. Slowly inhale for at least five seconds. Hold it. And exhale very slowly. Do it at least 10 times. Now, I hope you’re feeling at least a little bit better.

Lastly, do your best to smile. If you find it hard to smile even a little, try to think of the most funny and embarrassing moments when you were a child. For sure it will make you smile.

Didn’t work? What if you turn on your TV or laptop and then watch some funny videos? Go ahead, I won’t let you down. Search the funniest videos on the internet. I’m certain it will make you laugh very hard. And after a few minutes of watching, you’ll find yourself feeling better than a while ago.

What I’m saying to you is that you don’t have to feel sorry every time you feel like nothing is doing good. That everything you do you feel like it isn’t enough. It is okay if you are feeling down and feels like you are in your lowest version of yourself. Sometimes, all we have to do is to acknowledge our vulnerability and accept it. Accept the fact that in life there will be a moment when you will constantly question your life’s performance even though you’re actually doing just fine. Don’t let your own self-expectations always get a way to pressure yourself.

Yes, I understand that we have our own expectations for yourself and sometimes we do set some standards. But don’t let it become your source of stress because eventually it will only bring you unhappiness and feeling self pity. You are doing great with your life compared to those people who only know how to criticize others. Why not try to get up and embrace the bright sunshine’s and warm fresh air.

The best thing to do is to look for something that will help to brighten your mood. Maybe have a cup of warm chocolate or a freshly brewed coffee? Stop sulking in your bed. You had enough of it.

Get up and face the world! You’re strong and gorgeous!

Let them see the best version of yourself. Remember, you are not alone.
