MEMORIES

Childhood dreams and memories.

I still recall our third-grade teacher telling us to stand in front of the class and speak about our biggest hope.

I recall that I wanted to be a nurse. My motivation for wanting to be a nurse has nothing to do with the people around me. My family is really easy, and I grew up in it. We were not financially secure at the moment, I may tell. We don’t have enough money to last another day. We didn’t really have electricity back then. Life was still quite easy. Yet we were a contented bunch. My grandmother prepares porridge every morning so that we don’t get hungry until lunch. We had to save as much money and food as we could.

Childhood dreams and memories.

One day, My grandma fell ill, and we had no money to get her drugs. I noticed how my grandfather cared about her. He gently put it on my grandmother’s forehead with not-so-cold water and a rag. He claims it would help to lower the fever.

I recall him teaching and instructing me on how to do it correctly when he wanted to go to the kitchen to cook a herbal remedy for my grandmother. So right there and there, I told my grandmother that I wanted to be a nurse someday. I fantasized about wearing an all-white nursing uniform and caring for all the elderly patients in the hospital. Of course, I wanted to have the best possible treatment for my grandparents, and I hoped that one day I would be able to purchase their medications for them if they were ill.

Yet history and destiny were not by my side when it came to fulfilling my childhood dream. A lot of stuff has happened. Often I feel like if this isn’t supposed to be, it’s not going to happen. You couldn’t change the fact that those dreams weren’t meant for you. Even if you strive long enough, if it is not for you, you will not be able to acquire it. That sounds easy. But accepting the truth is not always easy, but it is the best thing you can do for yourself.

Recognize the reality. Accept the facts. For you to be able to continue going forward, you must think clearly and be realistic. You should still have a different fantasy. Don’t be disheartened if your dream did not come true. Make a happier smile! There is no time limit for someone who desires to pursue a new goal.

You have the utmost power to take a new blank canvas and start sketching your new visions as long as you are able to move on with your life. Don’t be afraid to dream again. There is a lot out there. Opportunities to be really content and fulfilled with one’s life are just around the corner.

You do need to take one action at a time.
Imagine the impossible.
Relive your childhood wishes.
Yours is the whole universe.
