C. How to start your diet
Alright! For the continuation of our friendly discussion yesterday, we are now going to talk about some helpful and effective tips with regards to your diet plan challenge. In any diet plan, the first important thing is to make sure to eat a proper meal.
Choose low calories foods. Always include fruits and veggies in your meal.
The next tip is to put all your snacks away. I don’t mean you have to throw everything away, okay. Take note that it is a bad habit to waste food. Well, unless it is expired or spoiled already then go ahead and dispose of it right away. You have to start in your room. Where foods are within your reach any time of the day. Cleared your food drawers. Take out all the chips, chocolates and sweets. Keep it in a food container and hide it in the kitchen. Well, as long as it is not easy for you to grab it anytime and every time you think you are hungry.
Another tip is to plan when to eat. Yes, that’s right. You have to schedule your mealtime. By doing so, you will have something to look forward to. If you think you are hungry, drink a glass of warm water. After 15 minutes you will feel that your craving is over. We all know that drinking lots of water makes us feel full. So always remember to have bottled water beside you. Try your best to wait and eat based on your mealtime schedule. If you are really starving, eat some fruits instead of sweets.
But then again, if possible, always try to avoid eating anything when it is not time yet. There are some ways to avoid the so-called “Snackcident”- accidentally snacking out of your schedule.
Another effective way is to distract yourself. Yes, try to do something to make yourself busy. Like reading your favorite books, do some exercise, or just simply take a few minutes to walk around your neighborhood.
Then after doing that, ask yourself “Am I really starving?” Always remember to ask yourself before going into the pantry because sometimes lack of activities makes us feel bored. We end up thinking about food. Am I right? Especially this time of the pandemic, some of us are just staying at home most of the time. And we cannot deny that eating is one of our favorite things to do. So we have to take note of that.
Ask yourself first before grabbing a pack of chips! Okay, my next tip for you is to drink a cup of green tea every day. Yes, drinking tea helps to flush the unwanted fats and toxins from our bodies. You can drink it after your meal if you want. The best time to drink tea is before going to bed. If you are not an avid fan of teas, I suggest you give it a try. You’ll get used to the taste eventually.
Deciding on a diet doesn’t necessarily mean you have to totally deny yourself from eating your favorite foods. Reward yourself once in a while, it wouldn’t hurt if you let yourself have a bite of a doughnut or have a slice of pizza.
Take note that if you suddenly deny yourself from eating all your favorite foods at all, one day you will find yourself in the kitchen, eating the whole box of doughnuts or eating the large pack of chips. That’s for sure.
And of course, you don’t want that to happen, right? Ruining your diet plan and going for nothing. So don’t rush yourself.
